JUSTIN

Your Little Child & Mine

One cherished child whose soul alights

Needs you for a little while to teach

Oh, mourn not for your heartfelt plights;

Which of you has learned to reach?

One blessed child whose very life’s a gift

Must find the way back home.

Oh, dream not that he is yours alone to keep,

Or that it is your soul only

that is lifted by his light.

~ Jerilyn Porcaro

This poem was written by a Foster mother on the day the baby she cared for had to go back to his own mother. I know how she felt. www.johnporcaro.com/family/index.html

Justin came to live with us when he was a few moths old. He could already crawl at the tender age of 5 months, and was quick to walk, say words and eat solids. There is a striking resemblance between him and my own son when he was a baby and we bonded immdediately. We all knew he would have to go back to his single mother, who has two little girls, 6 an 2 years older than he is.

We still see him regularly, visiting us weekends with his two sisters and we are greatful for the time we can spend with them, teach them, guide them and love them.
