NO WHERE TO GO

Zuanne-Marie van der Merwe
October 2002,

We had no where to go. In the end we stored the furniture and went first went on holiday. On our return, we moved into the 1 bedroom flat of the ROSEVILLE property. People were renting the house from us. Without the neighbourhood knowing, we smuggled in with us 4 of the youngest street children, and housed them.

Each morning, before the sun came up, they left for the streets, and at night, when everyone was sleeping, we let them in again. It was even more crazy circumstances, than 34 in one house. But the boys were so young, Morne was only twelve, Rudi and Vratjie ten and Eleven. I couldn't let them sleep on the streets after taking care of them for more than 2 years.
